18th July: Chris Cargo Featuring Marcie Out Now
Chris Cargo’s next release features the slinky and seductive vocals of Boston based Marcie and is out now on Tokio Recordings.

A collaboration born on myspace Chris and Marcie deliver a peaktime Progressive monster.

Remix duties are bestowed upon the multitalented Daley Padley and Fribbs who create a peak time tech house/techno bomb.

Up and coming James Searles leans towards the more minimal Techno sound whilst Polish based Hypno does what he does best by turning in a deeper interpretation for those more laid back moments.

Completing this package is the ever consistant Rob Mooney who provides you a nice little intro mix which could make a very useful DJ tool.

Confirmed DJ support from the likes of Steve Lawler, Dave Spoon, Jim Rivers, Anderson Noise, Paul Thomas, Onionz, Moshic, Noir, Stretch Silvester, Rhythm Code, Anil Chawla, Dave Robertson, Patch Park, Dirty Disorder, Jon Gurd, Aldrin, Sam Ball, Inkfish, Flash Brothers, Tim Andresen, Steve Mill and Kamisshake to name but a few

25th February: Cargo Signs to Whoop
With over a hundred releases and various mix albums Whoop! Records was started in the summer of 1994.
Run by DJ's Andrew Lekker and Joel Xavier who were inspired by labels such as the now defunct Guerrilla and Om labels.
This left a gap for the so called progressive house sound, in other words pounding, quality grooves which are neither techno nor commercial house but banging, tuneful, dj-friendly and accessible dance music.
Whoop! had grown from strength to strength since 1994 continually entering the Mixmag Buzz charts, Coolcutz charts and the Record Mirror Club Charts amongst others, with the labels tracks and artists receiving critical acclaim from all over the music press and industry.
They also never stopped receiving support from major league DJ's such Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Danny Tenaglia, Eric Morillo, Sander Kleinenberg, Paul Van Dyk, and Nick Warren (Way Out West).

Unfortunately with the advent of digital technology whoop records is no more.
But have no fear Whoopdigital, the digital cousin to Whoop Records, is designed to ensure that the Whoop Records sound stays.

whoop

It brings the legendary Whoop Records sound into the next phase of the computer music age.
Relieving itself from the shackles of physical product, and existing as a completely separate entity, Whoopdigital enables itself to push the envelope even further, whilst still maintaining all the characteristics of the classic label that shares its name.
This extra freedom also means that the Whoop Records sound can branch out even further, with Whoopdigital forging its own unique, online identity with increased output, larger mix packages and a diversified sound.
Straight from your computer to your CDJ, Whoopdigital has been conceived from the ashes of Whoop Records and is now able to deliver even more quality, house, prog and techno straight to your decks without the need for you to ever leave your home.

Chris Cargo - That Piano Track should be released some time this year.
